Naracoorte is the heart of the South East of South Australia. The population of Naracoorte is approx. 5,300 in the town, and 8,000 including the surrounding district.

Situated half way between Adelaide (3 hrs) and Melbourne (4hrs), Naracoorte is a prosperous area of undulating country with reliable rainfall. Naracoorte won the National Tidy Town for 1995.

Other Attractions:
Naracoorte is within an hours drive to the South Coast beach towns including Robe, Kingston, Beachport and the Coorong and Canunda National Parks. It is also one hours drive to Mount Gambier, a town of 30,000 people.

Naracoorte is situated mid way between the Coonawarra and Padthaway prime wine growing areas. Bool Lagoon, 20 minutes away, is Australia's premier permanent inland wetland area, with a wealth of bird life.

The Naracoorte Caves, 10 minutes from Naracoorte includes the world's largest animal ossuary (World Heritage Listed). World Heritage Listed Mount Arapiles (1 hour) Australia's premier rock climbing location is also a great place to visit.

The Grampians National Park (2hrs) is a wilderness park not too far from Mount Arapiles.
Ewens and Piccanini Ponds, 80 minutes from Naracoorte are listed in National Geographic's best dozen scuba dives in the world. (There's a scuba club in Naracoorte offering training as well).
